Students and teachers of International School Savremena have once again proved that their social responsibility is at an enviable level.

On Thursday, 21 March they participated in a presentation given by the non-profit organisation Nebograd, about the newest project of their volunteers – the inclusive cabaret We are All the Same, performed by people with developmental difficulties.

The interest for this presentation among both students and teachers shows that they understand that support for marginalised groups of people is of the utmost importance.

Alternative approaches to transfer of knowledge

This non-profit organisation strives to introduce novel ways of teaching and learning aimed at supporting children and young people with disabilities, especially those dealing with autism. Together with their mentors, they organise concerts with the help of professional musicians to express themselves through various artistic abilities. Savremena’s students have recognised this effort and actively participated in the presentation.

The interactive character of the presentation is what distinguishes it from previous ones. The presenters tried to include the audience as much as possible through word play, games, activities and questions. The fact that the students went from spectators to actors only ignited their wish to support the cause even further.

From an early age, Savremena’s students learn about the various challenges they will face in the modern world. By promoting diverse activities and presenting different content, they are being prepared for such demands and for their future lives.
