The International School prepared various activities for its students in the previous week to spice up the beginning of another school year. The students’ “classroom without walls” was a great chance for making friends and for getting to know the sights of the city we all live in.
Creative workshops
On Wednesday, our students participated in various workshops. Imagine listening to yourself from a few years ago. Our Year 10 and Year 11 students will experience this when they open their Time Capsule video and start reminiscing about their beginnings in the school.
Students in Year 12 and Year 13 had a very challenging task – they used their skills and artistic talent to create interesting pieces showing advice and guidelines for academic success at the International School. They inspired all of us through their “Bullying is Boring” campaign, which motivated everyone to be kind.
Hyde Park and Zemun Maze
A real mental and physical challenge awaited Year 10 and Year 11 students in Hyde Park. The International School organised orienteering activities for them on Thursday, which were so much more than an ordinary walk in the park. The students enjoyed finding their way in nature and overcoming all obstacles.
Year 12 and Year 13 started this school year in an adventurous way as well. The Zemun Maze was a true mental and physical exercise through a series of quiz questions, as clues to their next location. Split into smaller groups, the students received riddles and maps, and along the way they learnt many new things about Zemun.
Sports Day at Ada
Friday was reserved for some sports fun at Ada. Together with their teachers, and respecting all social distancing rules, the students tested their sports skills in volleyball, football, CrossFit and yoga. They were divided into groups so the activities lasted from 10 AM until 4 PM. The students were in high spirits and ready to compete, making this day unforgettable.
The International School cares not only about educating its students and nurturing their spirit, but it also pays due attention to their healthy lifestyle. This is the main reason for organising the unique, fun and character-building classroom without walls.
