International School’s Year 11 student, Teodora Obradović, participated in the SIFMA Foundation’s Stock Market Game, an online simulation of the global capital markets that engages nearly 20 million students in the world of economics and investing. Teodora has shown great persistence and has successfully completed all tasks in time, which qualified her for the InvestWrite, an essay competition that serves as a culminating activity for Stock Market Game students.
The SIFMA Foundation provides financial education programmes and tools that strengthen economic opportunity across communities and increase individuals’ awareness of and access to the benefits of the global marketplace. Furthermore, participation in the Stock Market Game provides the essential skills that help individuals increase their understanding of personal finance and make sound decisions that underpin lifelong success.
With the guidance and support from Teodora’s Business teacher, Ms Tatjana Vilček, we are sure that this is just one step toward her magnificent career in finance and her financially independent future.
What did Teodora say about this competition?
“First of all, my interests in business, finance and individual livestock management would not have been used and directed in the right way if Ms Tatjana hadn’t been by my side to recognise my ambitions and potential. Additional interests prompted me to apply for the SIFMA Stock Market Game, which taught me to invest independently in stocks and make estimates of their profitability in the future, whether the investment is good or not and worth the prices. In the future, I would very much like to continue learning more about the stock market, because I would like to invest in it myself. InvestWrite is definitely my next goal, which I will undoubtedly successfully complete, thanks to Ms Tatjana’s instructions. Thank you so much for this opportunity and experience.”
