International School students celebrated Valentine’s Day in a unique way this year, focusing on helping children battling cancer. February 15th marks the International Day of Children suffering from cancer, and our students seized the opportunity to extend their love and support to those in need.
Instead of traditional celebrations centered solely on romantic love, our students embraced the spirit of altruism by organizing a charity sale dedicated to NURDOR, an organization devoted to children fighting cancer.
Organized by the Student Council, the charity sale offered an array of activities aimed at raising funds for this noble cause. To participate, students sent their SMS contributions to NURDOR, demonstrating their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Upon donation, each participant had the opportunity to spin the wheel of fortune, with exciting prizes awaiting them, including mystery gift boxes and photo booth sessions.
Importance of empathy and support for those in our community who require assistance
The event not only exemplified the true spirit of Valentine’s Day but also highlighted the importance of empathy and support for those in our community who require assistance. By coming together to support children battling cancer, our school community showcased the power of compassion and solidarity.
Small acts of kindness can make a significant difference in the lives of others. It is through such gestures of generosity and empathy that we truly embody the spirit of Valentine’s Day, spreading love and hope to those who need it most.
