In Sarajevo, a city with Olympic history, the recent tournament commemorating 40 years since the iconic 1984 Games showcased remarkable young talents on the ice. Among them was our Antonije Čizmić, Year 9 student, whose exceptional skills in hockey led to him clinching a silver medal in the event.
Hosted in the spirit of commemorating Sarajevo’s Olympic legacy, the tournament introduced a 3v3 format, potentially signaling its future inclusion in the Olympic Games. Luc Tardif, President of the International Ice Hockey Federation, presided over the event, emphasizing its significance by inaugurating the tournament and witnessing the intense matches that unfolded.
Five teams, representing different colors — Red, White, Black, Yellow, and Grey — comprised a mix of talented young players from Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the end, it was the White team that emerged victorious, claiming the gold medal. The Grey team, featuring Antonije Čizmić, demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, securing the silver medal. The Yellow team clinched the bronze, completing a thrilling display of competitive hockey.
