To help Year 8 students understand emotions better, the Soft Skills class held a workshop on emotion recognition. Led by Ms. Lara Filipović, the school psychologist, the workshop had support from Soft Skills teacher, Ms. Marija Panić, and Ms. Neda Semiz.
The workshop, guided by the school psychologist, aimed to teach students how to understand emotions and facial expressions, crossing cultural barriers. It focused on empathy to help students connect better with others.
Interactive Learning: Exploring the Universal Language of Emotions
During the presentation, students explored the universal language of emotions, carefully studying facial expressions that are understood across different cultures. Guided by Ms. Lara, the workshop encouraged interactive learning, enabling students to identify subtle signs and understand the various emotions that influence human interaction.
This workshop aligns with the Soft Skills curriculum, which aims for holistic development and interpersonal competencies.
The workshop provided students with tools for social interactions and encouraged empathy and compassion. Understanding human emotions better helps students navigate relationships, both in school and beyond.
