The first day of school at International School, held on 2 September, was filled with excitement and the spirit of new beginnings, both for students and staff. Students in Year 7, Year 8, and Year 9 welcomed the new school year with smiles, eagerly anticipating all that lies ahead – plenty of fun, new challenges, and a wide range of knowledge they will acquire.
Students delighted by the international environment
The students particularly emphasised their satisfaction with the international environment, as well as the approach of their teachers, who help them connect better with other students. The English language, which is the primary language of instruction, adds to their sense of belonging to the global community. They look forward to exchanging ideas and learning about different cultures through daily interactions with peers from various parts of the world.
Positive expectations from Principal Tatjana Vilček
School Principal Tatjana Vilček looks at the new school year with optimism. “I’m very excited because this year we’re welcoming many new students from different parts of the world. Their presence further enriches the diversity of our school and contributes to a dynamic learning environment”, said the principal. She also extended her sincere wishes to all students, wishing them success in academic challenges, excellent results in exams, and overall success in their future endeavours.
Mentorship as a key element of school work
Tamara Ćeranić, the deputy principal, also shared her thoughts on the importance of mentorship, which she considers a crucial part of her work. “Throughout my years at International School, mentorship has become particularly dear to me, as it offers a unique opportunity to connect with students on a deeper level. As mentors, we help them face the challenges of adolescence, as well as make important future decisions, such as choosing a university. Our role is to guide them and help them find balance in all of this”, Tamara said.
