School stories

At International School, we strongly believe in the power of intergenerational collaboration, as it fosters a sense of community, strengthens academic skills, and builds confidence among students. A perfect example of this was seen when a couple of Year 11 students joined a Science lesson for Year 7, offering their support in preparing for an assessment and solving logical problems together.

Such interactions are very important, as they allow younger students to benefit from the knowledge and experience of their older peers while also encouraging leadership and mentoring skills in senior students. Beyond academic support, these activities promote teamwork, empathy, and a positive learning environment.

This initiative aligns with our school’s Peer Tutor Programme, which enables students to assist one another in various subjects throughout the school year. Peer tutoring has numerous benefits – it reinforces understanding, enhances communication skills, and builds relationships between students of different year groups. The guidance provided by older students not only boosts the academic performance of younger ones but also fosters a collaborative school culture.

By encouraging both structured and spontaneous peer collaboration, International School ensures that students grow not only academically but also socially, preparing them to become supportive, well-rounded individuals in the future.
