International School’s Year 11 and Year 13 Biology and Chemistry students had an amazing Friday. The teachers took them to the Zoo, and instead of staying in the classroom, they enjoyed the sunny weather outdoors.
The purpose of the visit was for the students to get to know different species and their distinctive characteristics and similarities, and how to correctly classify the animals by their physical look. With their Geography teacher, they also talked about the impact their habitat has on the animals and the ways of conservation and protection.
This was a fun way of enriching the curriculum and expanding on what the students learn at school, while providing them with important learning experiences. The students had a great time (should we say teachers as well), and even though this visit was for educational purposes, it was an entertaining and enjoyable experience for everyone.
