The Erasmus project “Teaching the Future”, featuring partner schools from Italy, Greece, Spain, Cyprus and Serbia, is now in its concluding phase. The current focus is on the implementation and usage of resources created during the project, with an emphasis on spreading acquired knowledge and engaging in various activities.
A notable event in this process was the presentation of project results at Savremena Gimnazija, where attendees were invited to explore and use the website which was specially developed as part of the initiative. One particularly noteworthy aspect is the introduction of a data dashboard, which extracts information on global temperatures from various locations. Using mathematical models, this dashboard projects future temperature changes, contributing valuable insights to the ongoing discussion on climate change.
Goal of the “Teaching the future” project is to establish a platform where scientific data and sources related to climate change are accessible, updated and verified
Collaborating with other project partners, the teachers from International School, Ms Nadežda Šućur and Mr Vladimir Milošević, played an important role in the creation of an online course for educators. The course, comprising four modules, is designed to enhance teachers’ competencies, providing guidance and activities to increase both student and teacher engagement within the local community. It is important to mention that the course aims to raise awareness about climate change, fostering a collective understanding of individual and collaborative actions that can be taken.
The primary goal of the “Teaching the Future” project is to establish a platform where scientific data and sources related to climate change are accessible, updated and verified. Likewise, this initiative seeks to provide teachers with training to raise awareness of climate change and equip them with additional competencies and knowledge.
The highlight of the project is the online training for teachers, which aims to summarise critical topics related to climate change. The course also provides ideas and advice on seamlessly integrating these crucial topics into classroom instruction, ensuring a holistic approach to climate education.
As the Erasmus project “Teaching the Future” moves towards its final stage, the impact on educators and students alike promises a sustained commitment to environmental education, empowering individuals and communities to address the challenges posed by climate change.
