We don’t have to say again how successful our students are, but we have to remind you of the fantastic results at the Cambridge exams in the June 2021 series. Thanks to these results, many students qualified for the peer tutoring program, so now they can help younger students achieve best results!
In previous weeks, students had the opportunity to choose subjects from which they need additional support, but also to apply for this program if they think that their knowledge could benefit younger students. The peer tutoring program will be implemented through as many as 10 Cambridge subjects this year.
Collaborative learning enhances the students’ academic and socio-emotional competences
We were surprised by the number of applications for student tutors in Year 10 and Year 11, given that the exams are still pending. That’s why Mia VanDoren, a Year 13 student and student-coordinator of the peer tutoring program, came up with a great idea – Year 10 and Year 11 students will be Study Buddies, because research shows that collaborative learning improves not only academic but also socio-emotional competencies. We are proud of the fact that the International School is attended by remarkable students who are also great friends, ready to help their schoolmates and driven by the inspiring motto: “Knowledge shared is knowledge multiplied!”
We can’t wait for 1 November, when the students will officially spend time with their tutors at scheduled times!
