International Student Alliance Model United Nations (ISAMUN) was held at British International School and, like many times before, an International School student was honoured with a Best Delegate award.
International School students are known as experienced delegates and this time, the Best Delegate award went to Year 11 student Elena Pavlov, while Aleksandra Ognjenović received honorable mention. Both part of the Human Rights Council, they were debating on “Financial Inequality: The wealth gap between the rich and the poor”.
In case you forgot, Model United Nations is an educational simulation and/or academic activity in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. Participating in such a conference greatly improves communication and debating skills.
ISAMUN helped Year 10 and Year 11 students to develop and demonstrate important skills such as critical thinking, public speaking and decision making. Without any doubt, the conference resulted in a successful, educational and fun experience for all participants.
