Yet another interesting lecture was held at the International School as part of the Parents Teach This Week project led by Parent Support Coordinator, Ms Tatjana Koluvija. This week’s lecturer was Maja Žeželj, Lena’s mum and successful journalist, who talked about media content, collecting and checking information, the final product presented on TV, and journalism in general.
As expected, Maja Žeželj did a great job and the students found the lecture highly inspiring. Maja covered every topic, from how to control your voice and present news accurately, through body language, free media, and fake news, to the dangers faced by journalists.
Maja believes that education stands between our needs and wants. This is why she inspired the students to believe in knowledge and education, and to enjoy school and the learning process.
Maja Žeželj has a degree in journalism and a master’s degree in communication. She advanced her English skills in London and is a well-known TV face.
This was a great experience not just for the students but for the teachers as well, and even though the lecture lasted for an hour and a half, everybody wanted to stay a bit longer. For those who didn’t make it to this lecture, a live stream was there to help, allowing students to watch and enjoy the lecture on their Distance Learning platforms.
