This year’s Science Fair at the International School featured an innovative collaboration between Psychology and Art and Design teachers. The theme that brought these two fields together was colors, as both disciplines use colors to represent various emotions.
Students were given the task of blindly selecting different colors and corresponding emotions. They then created paintings that expressed the chosen emotions through their use of color.
The Physics teacher also had an engaging exhibit, where students explored the phenomena of refraction, dispersion, and reflection. They used optical sets with prisms and lenses to conduct experiments, aiming to understand the nature of light rays. Additionally, students verified these phenomena using PhET simulations on iPads.
The Science Fair is an annual event at the International School, providing a platform for students to showcase their knowledge and creativity. It highlights the academic achievements of our students and encourages them to explore the connection of different fields. This year’s fair was a memorable and educational experience for all participants.
