International School recognizes the importance of STEM education, which is why we provide all our students with the opportunity to try out their hand in the international StemCo competitions in mathematics, biology, chemistry or physics.
These competitions included 40 problem-based questions that the students had to solve in two hours. Although they were allowed to use the Internet, books and all other resources, the correct answer could only be reached by applying one’s knowledge and problem-solving skills.
International School can boast that as many as 22 of our students won valuable prizes
Twenty-two students of International School won awards or commendations, and a special mention goes to Year 10 students, Lazar Virijević and Elena Vezenkoska, who won the Silver Award in math and chemistry.
Great results despite stiff competition
The fact that this international competition requires the skill of solving complex problems speakers volumes about its academic and intellectual rigor. However, neither the fact that the competition was in English, nor the fact that the number of points was inversely proportional to the time it took to solve the problems discouraged our students from demonstrating their readiness to tackle even the biggest challenges.
We wish our students luck in all future scientific endeavors!
