After a great number of students successfully enrolled, on Saturday, the 5th of September, Savremena International School welcomed its youngest students into the M-E-S programme. Students aged 12-15, from various parts of Serbia (Belgrade, Čačak, Kragujevac…) wanted to acquire the Savremena flavour of knowledge at this Cambridge programme and prepare for further education at Savremena Gimnazija.
Savremena’s entire personnel greeted them eagerly and with a smile, showing them what Savremena Gimnazija has and what makes it truly different.
Primary schoolers thrilled with Savremena Gimnazija
Students at the M-E-S programme were thrilled with everything the Savremena teachers prepared for them. They enjoyed the creative iPad games and quizzes prepared for them by the science teacher Ana Vasilić.
They solved interesting logical problems with Ivan Bućković, the mathematics teacher. From the English language teacher Tamara Koranjić they received the first instructions on sending email, while the principal Svetlana Belić Malinić was happy to answer the students’ interesting email messages.
Visibly pleased and intrigued by a fresh approach and a different way of work, the M-E-S youngsters took home many impressions of the new school, eagerly awaiting the next weekend to get together again and learn something new.
What is M-E-S programme?
The M-E-S programme was designed as a combination of three subjects (Mathematics-English-Science). It is an Y8-level Cambridge programme. All students who have opted for this programme are, in fact, preparing for the later years at the Cambridge programme; improving their English, they use modern methods to advance their knowledge and skills. Savremena International School is there for them to provide an interesting addition to their weekends, where they can, while remaining full-time students at their primary schools, acquire new knowledge that will be useful in their everyday lives.
