Another interdisciplinary lesson was held on Friday, 4 October by PE and Sociology teachers with groups of Year 10 and Year 11 students. The topic of the lesson was teamwork.
Is it possible to blend PE with Sociology?
The lesson had a perfect intro in the form of exercises that required the students to work in pairs. The exercises included planks in pairs, sit ups with adding the ball to your partner, push ups and so on.
After the set of exercises, the students were asked to write an argumentative essay on the following topic: How teamwork helps me do better in school?
The benefits of teamwork in school
Collaboration within a group can help solve difficult problems. Brainstorming is a good opportunity for the team to exchange ideas and come up with creative ways of doing things. By working together, teams can find the solutions that work best. Group activities can support individual learning, increase student engagement and build friendships between students in the class who seldom interact otherwise.
At International School Savremena teamwork is always a welcome change in the normal routine as it gets the students out of their seats. Schoolwork becomes more enjoyable and rewarding when you incorporate teamwork.
