School stories

Year 10 students had an opportunity to explore the structure of the heart and lungs firsthand during their Biology lesson. This hands-on experience was designed to help them better prepare for Assessment Week by deepening their understanding of these vital organs and their interconnections.

Through dissection, students were able to identify the substructures they had previously only seen in textbooks, reinforcing their theoretical knowledge with practical observation. They were particularly fascinated by the strength of certain parts of the heart, realizing that, despite their seemingly delicate appearance, they are actually very strong and durable.

School psychologist Miss Lara assisted Miss Nadežda in demonstrating the proper techniques for handling the materials.

This interactive approach to learning plays a crucial role in scientific education, allowing students to engage with the subject matter in a meaningful way. By combining theory with practice, they develop not only a stronger grasp of biological concepts but also important skills in observation and problem-solving that will benefit them in the future.
