Year 13 students recently delved into the world of medical biochemistry with a special visit to the Clinical Centre of Serbia. Led by their chemistry teacher, Ms Marija Kovački, students Lana Lukić, Teodora Beatović, and Isidora Šušović had the opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Clinical Biochemistry Institute.
From Theory to Practice: Practical Experiences in Medical Biochemistry
During the visit, the students were hosted by Olja Gabrić, the head of Urgent Laboratory Diagnostics Service. Ms Olja Gabrić provided insights into the process and techniques involved in medical biochemistry. The students were demonstrated how blood and urine samples are prepared, analyzed, and assessed, highlighting the valuable information that can be obtained from these samples.
The visit offered an enriching experience for the students, and thanks to Ms Olja, the students gained practical knowledge and insights into the field of medical biochemistry firsthand, but they also saw how the Clinical Centre of Serbia functions.
