In an exciting interdisciplinary class, Year 9 students had the unique opportunity to merge their skills in Art and Design with Robotics. Led by their teachers, Ms Lora and Ms Maja, the students were tasked with imagining, designing, and creatively conceptualising their own robots. To bring their visions to life, they used the Canva app to visually present their robot concepts.
As part of the task, each student created a visual of their robot and wrote a brief description of its functions.
Interdisciplinary lessons like this are crucial in today’s education as they allow students to apply knowledge from multiple fields, fostering a deeper and more well-rounded understanding of subjects. Combining creativity with technology encourages students to think critically and innovatively, equipping them with the skills needed for the future. These types of lessons make learning more engaging and help students understand the real-world applications of the skills they are developing.
